We Tested 4 One-Hand Blowers on the Same Driveway. Only One Was a Real Tool.
A $29 TikTok blower, a $200 "jet" blower, a gas handheld, and the new KLAAST, same leaves, same wet car, same gutter. Here's what happened.
How we tested
Same suburban driveway, a week after the first leaf drop. Three jobs each: a leaf-covered driveway (about 30 feet), a freshly washed dark sedan, and a first-floor gutter. We timed each job, measured noise at 1 meter with a phone meter VERIFY méthode ou reformuler, and weighed each tool with its battery.
We're not naming the three competitors. They're representative of what you'll find in each price bracket, and the point isn't to embarrass anyone, it's to show you what the specs on the box actually translate to.
The four
A: The $29 "mini blower." The one in every TikTok video. Built-in USB battery, big MPH number on the box, no CFM listed anywhere.
B: The ~$200 "jet" blower. Small, very fast air, sold on a 200-MPH-class figure. Runs on power-tool batteries (sold separately). Bare nozzle, no heads. VERIFY chiffres génériques
C: A gas handheld blower. The standard for thirty years. Pull-start, two-stroke fuel mix, in the 8–10 lb range. VERIFY
D: KLAAST. 20V cordless, three heads in the box, 375 CFM.

Job 1: The leaf-covered driveway
A moved the top layer and pushed the rest around. After four minutes the battery indicator started blinking. We stopped.
B was fast in the air and slow on the ground. The jet is narrow, so you're carving lines through the leaves instead of sweeping them. Wet leaves stuck.
C cleared it fastest (about three minutes) and left us with ringing ears and a fuel smell on our jacket. Also took four pulls to start.
D cleared it in about four minutes with the Storm tube on, one-handed, on speed 5 of 6. The width of the air stream is the difference: it sweeps, it doesn't carve.
Job 2: The wet sedan
A scattered water. It didn't remove it.
B worked on flat panels but the narrow stream made the mirrors and badges a chase. And with nothing on the nozzle, we kept flinching near the paint.
C got the water off, along with a fine mist of exhaust residue on the clear coat. Not what you want.
D with the Blade head: rubber lip, so we could work right at the trim line. The 360° swivel let us tilt the air under the mirrors without twisting a wrist. Whole car, no towel, about five minutes.
Job 3: The gutter
A, B, C: ladder. There's no other way with a bare nozzle.
D: three Storm tubes stacked, 150 cm, feet on the ground. Not perfect on packed, wet debris (nothing is) but on the dry leaves and seed pods that block most gutters, it worked, and nobody climbed anything.
The verdict
If you want the cheapest possible thing for patio crumbs, A is fine. If you already own a garage full of power-tool batteries and only ever dry a car, B is a reasonable specialist. If you have a large property and don't mind the noise, weight and fuel, C still clears the fastest.
For everyone else (one tool, three jobs, no ladder, no fuel, no towel) D was the only one of the four that finished all three jobs, and the only one we'd buy again.
It's not the cheapest. It's the only one that isn't a compromise.
